Goodbye, Bud

Bets and I put Bud to sleep this morning. He had kidney failure and wasn't responding well to treatment.

Bud, from the Humane Society in 1997, raised in Richfield, MN; Boston, MA; Sunnyvale, CA, Burnsville and finally Lakeville was a part of everything we experienced over that last ten years. His absence leaves us with a sadness, which frankly, is a bit more than I expected. He was an affectionate, gentle, and very loved cat. We will miss him.

Bets wrote this about Bud.

Pain gone
Suffering gone
He's gone
Bye Bud
We miss you, we loved you, and we love you still

Here are some pictures of him.

  • I'm soooo very sorry to hear that hun, I know how much you really loved that cat! When you stayed here he always had a sweet snuggle for me anytime of the day too. And he had a very good soul.

But...Well, if you believe in the old "cats have nine lives" theory along with a little reincarnation thrown in for good measure. He's probably making some couple very happy right now with their new born baby that is so "affectionate, gentle, and very loved"! (Part two. ...*wink*)

Even if you don't...he is still alive in our memories. Very beautiful poem Betsy! It befits him! Time to wipe away a tear or two here too. My condolences.

    /Salute to a wonderful life,
    hug,
    Mom
