BFF (best friends forever) ?

Starting yesterday, Betsy will be taking care of James and Andy, my nephew, during the day at my sister's house. It's a bit of a change for her since she's been able to stay home with James, but so far, I think she actually prefers getting out and watching both James and Andy. She said it was "more fun". I believe her, but I don't know if I could do it.

Here are some pictures of James' and Andy's first day together!

Sensitive at my desk

I planted seeds of a sensitive plant at my desk. Two sprouted. I thought it was unusual that one grew as I expected, but there was also a teeny tiny plant coming up, too. Same seeds - but one is about 15 times smaller than the other.

Shoestrings are fun

Wednesday, I'm going to start a special feature. By "special", I mean something that is only slightly more spectacular than my regular content.

I only curb your enthusiasm in hopes that you'll avoid pulling a muscle from over-bracing yourself - something I tend to do at the promise of future content from any rinky dink friend/family blog sites.

In the meantime, here are a couple of videos of James playing with my shoestring yesterday.

Yardwork, part 2

After having stirred my readership into a frenzy of excitement over the recent post I did about having dug a hole in my backyard, I felt it was only fair to update you on the suspenseful situation.

I took some dirt from my garden and wheelbarrowed it over the hole to fill it up. Then I leveled it off, sprinkled some grass seed, buried the grass seed with a garden rake, and put up a fence up around it. I've been watering it once or twice per day since, and it seems to growing well. Here are a couple of pictures.

Right before I seeded.

Grass growing.

And here are a couple of bonus baby pictures.

Tormenting James in the bath.

James and I were matched involuntarily on the Saturday before Father's day.
